Cupping

Cupping is usually used as part of acupuncture but can be used stand alone as well. Cups are usually glass, plastic, or silicone and is placed in points to move or stimulate the body’s natural energy or Qi.   Cupping can also release stagnant Qi and blood that is the cause of pain or disease by increasing local circulation of Qi and blood. Cupping has been shown in some research to decrease inflammation and relax muscles. The cups will likely leave a red or purple welt or bruise like discoloration as it brings blood closer to the surface.
