Kinesiology Tape

Kinesiology Tape is a colored tape worn by athletes and non-athletes. It became well known by the public after being worn by athletes in the 2008 Olympics. The tape was developed by a chiropractor and has been around for nearly 35 years. You may have noticed that the tape is applied much differently than you tend to see white athletic tape worn, this is because kinesiology tape is made to act differently.
Kinesiology tape is often used in combination with other therapies including chiropractic adjustments, topical analgesics, ultrasound, and soft tissue mobilization techniques. Kinesiology tape has no medicinal qualities! It is make of cotton, latex-free fabric. The tape is waterproof and can be worn for up to 5 days. It is able to stretch about 140% of its length allowing full range of motion, and it works to create space and allow proper flow of fluid between the skin and muscles. This can act in a couple of ways to reduce pain and activate the neurological and circulatory system, creating proper muscle function. The tape can be used for a variety of conditions, listed below are some of the more common ones.
